For us, vanlife is a privilege. By promoting this lifestyle on our platforms, our aim is to share our experience and introduce as many people as possible to the joys of van life. However, we also (and above all) hope that our community shares the same vision and values as we do, so that we can enjoy our spaces for a long time to come.
To enjoy vanlife to the full, we need to respect others and the environment around us. If you visit one of our Go-Van spaces, you too are adhering to the principles below, and encouraging others around you to do the same.
Fundamental principles:
- Respect the site: follow the instructions and signs applicable to each location, at all times.
- Respect for space: leave no trace and pick up after yourself, so that your site is even cleaner when you leave than when you arrived.
- Respect for others: be considerate of other vanlifers on site and respect the noise level and curfew applicable to each location.
- Respect for waterways: don’t dump your grey or black water in the forest. Locate and use the designated areas instead.
- Respect ecosystems: don’t feed animals, as this disrupts their natural behavior. The food provided by the woods is sufficient and better for their health.
- Respect for the environment: dispose of your garbage in the bins on site. If these are full, bring them back with you.
- Respect for safety: make sure you extinguish your fire and follow the fire regulations in force at the time of your visit.
- Respect for hosts: make sure you always contribute to good relations with the residents of the region you are visiting when you travel.
It is strongly encouraged:
- Encourage local businesses, producers and artisans by buying from them!
- Discover local activities! Don’t hesitate to ask at the reception desk to plan your outings.
- Wash yourself and your dishes with biodegradable soaps and detergents.
- Help other vanlifers on site by giving them a hand if they need it.
